Episode#45: Creative Pro Series, with Special Guest Darren C. Fisher

If you think you can't draw, animation lecturer and graphic storyteller, Darren C Fisher has something to say about that!

When I read his article, 'The Myth of 'I Can't Draw', I knew I wanted to have a conversation with Darren C. Fisher. Fortunately, we were able to make that happen, and this interview kicks off a series in which I'm talking to creative professionals about their careers, their craft, and their consistency.

As you'll hear in the episode, Darren's been drawing most of his life. And it's something that he believes in enjoying. We dig into some beliefs about creativity, including that some people are just 'naturally talented', and that if you have it, refined work just flows from your fingertips.

Naturally, it's not quite that simple - and of course this is both a blessing and a curse. For those who believe they can't draw (btw, I was told I couldn't draw by my tutor on my first day of art college, but it never stopped me, lol) this is a ray of hope. For those who know they can, but wonder where the progress is, then the 'secret' is also in here.

Listen out for Darren's advice on nurturing creativity too - vital for anyone who wants to ensure their creative battery remains charged.
