What do pencils have to do with creativity?
What about bouncy castles… or taking showers?
How about the differences between the right and left hemispheres of your brain….
How do they show up in creativity?
Starting on 29th November, why not join me for a look at the world inside our heads, and how we can ‘pull things from our brain that were never put in there in the first place’.
It’s not magic.
And it’s not rocket science.
But it is neuroscience! And that’s where it all gets interesting!
While you might have heard the myth of ‘right brained people’ being creative, that’s not actually how it works! We all use both hemispheres of our brains all the time - including when we’re being creative.
The right amount of creativity can take you from being a solid employee to a stellar one.
A shot of creativity can inject enthusiasm and inspiration into your environment, and your output.
Knowing how to tap into it is like having your own personal cocktail bar for great ideas!
Of course, that’s all well and good, but working out how to tap into it can feel a little like trying to find your way through a maze, or even worse! a brick wall!
I started to join the dots about this phenomenon when I learned more about how our brains actually work. And this helped me work out some things I hadn’t really seen before.
We are not either ‘creative or uncreative’ And when we get to understand a little more about what’s going on in the old grey matter, then things start to become a lot more colourful!
And that’s what this three week sprint is all about. A fast and fun exploration of what creativity is, how it works, and what to do to access it more easily.
So I hope you'll join me, so we can explore the possibilities.
